Episode #27: Oatmeal Cream Pie vs. Chocolate Jr.

The Names Little Debbie and Tastykake may be commonplace now, but that was not always the case. Both these cakes, the first for their respective companies, helped pave the way for future success. For Little Debbie, the Oatmeal Cream Pie- A snack cake so all-American it makes apple pie look like commie chow. For Tastykake, the Chocolate Jr. – First sold in 1917, and considered by most respected economists to be the primary catalyst to the roaring twenties. But all this pales in comparison to this match-up, the greatest moment in either of their storied careers. As a Dr B said, someone’s roots are getting cut off!
